Woman accused of phoning in bogus hijacking to stop wedding
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A woman accused of phoning in a bogus hijacking to stop her friend from flying from Los Angeles to his wedding in Egypt pleaded not guilty in federal court on Monday.

Prosecutors say Susan Monica Kriss called authorities at Los Angeles International Airport in August, saying that the flight would be hijacked. The "hijacker" turned out to be a man Kriss says is her boyfriend, a title he disputes.

Kriss was already in state custody facing stalking charges when she was charged last month with violating the federal false information and hoaxes law.

Kriss is currently free on $35,000 bail and could face up to five years in federal prison if convicted.

Her attorney John Passanante could not immediately be reached for comment
