I've waited 38 years to say "I do" to this man.
Allen and I met during the summer of 1969. I worked for the Wander Motel at Jekyll Island, GA and he worked for another motel but we rode the same bus to work. We were both 16 and this was our first summer jobs. The first few days he stared at me when I got on the bus; then he began to talk to me. Our relationship bloomed over that summer and when it was time to return to school I was heart broken because he was returning to Fitzgerald, GA to attend school. My parents didn't like him because he had the reputation as a "bad boy." My parents tried everything they could to keep me from him including threatening to send me off somewhere, anywhere. Over the years Allen and I remained close but I moved away. He remained in GA. We continued to keep in touch and even managed to try to maintain a relationship from long distance. He asked me to marry him right out of high school but I wanted a college education so off I went. Leaving him again. Now that we are now 53 years old; we decided to rekindle our relationship. It's been a year since I've seen him but our love is as strong as it was when we were 16. This is the second time around for us and this time we want to do it right. My parents have passed on and I would hope now I would their blessing. Allen and I love each other and that love has never stopped.
