So Far Yet So close

Like they say "Distance only makes the heart grow fonder".

I met my groom (Derek) in Atlanta Georgia. I was visiting my brother at basic traing for the army. My family and his all went out to dinner for Dereks 20th birthday. We never spoke expect for hi amd goodbye. A few months later I had found him on myspace and talked a few times. But when my boyfriend and i had finally broke up thats when we really started to get to know eachother. Although we were in different states, me in california and him in alaska, we thought we would give it a try. and it was really hard at first but we worked through it. Just before he left for iraq he had come home on his mandatory leave and he proposed. it was amazing. It was exactly how i pictured it would be and more. He is still in iraq. I have not seen him since august 17th 2008. He is supposed to come back sometime late august early september of 2009. Im only 19 years old and already gave my life to someone i cannot live with out.
